Iran's ambassador had a meeting with Sultan Haitham, and Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah also attended the meeting.
The two sides discussed the latest developments and bilateral cooperation during the meeting.
The new ambassador has previously served as Iran's ambassador to Lybia and Saudi Arabia.
